Common questions

Don't see your question? Contact support — we usually reply within a day.

Is Poker Hawk free to use?
Yes. Basic is free forever — the real clock, TV and mobile sync, and single-table hosting at no cost. Pro ($14.99/month, about half that with Founder pricing) unlocks up to 6 tables per tournament plus ICM, PKO bounties, and advanced stats; Legendary ($24.99/month) removes the table limit entirely.
What devices does Poker Hawk run on?
Poker Hawk runs on Windows and macOS desktop, iOS and Android phones and tablets, Fire TV, and Google TV. All surfaces stay in sync over the internet — no cables, no casting.
Do I need special hardware to display blinds on a TV?
No. If you have a Fire TV stick, Google TV, or any smart TV that can sideload our app, you can run the Poker Hawk TV display. There is also a web-based TV view at /tv-connect if you want to use a laptop hooked up to a monitor.
Can I import my existing player list or blind structure?
Yes. You can build custom blind structures inside Poker Hawk, save them as templates, and reuse them across events. Player rosters carry over automatically between tournaments in the same club.
How is Poker Hawk different from Tournament Director or Blind Valet?
Tournament Director is a Windows-only desktop program with a deep local database for players, leagues and seasons, and it runs entirely offline. What it has nothing of is a player side: no mobile app, no TV apps, no live sync to anyone else’s screen. Blind Valet is a capable browser-based system that does have real-time sync and a genuine club and league layer, including custom points formulas — what it does not have is native apps or a results page anyone can open. Poker Hawk is native on Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, Fire TV and Google TV, and every finished tournament gets a public results page that needs no account. Checked against both products’ own sites in August 2026.
Does Poker Hawk handle rebuys, add-ons, and bounties?
Yes. The host app supports rebuys, add-ons, bounties, knockout tracking, and chop calculations out of the box. Payout structures are calculated automatically based on entries and your selected payout scheme.
Can players see live event info on their phones?
Yes. The mobile companion app shows the current level, blinds, players remaining, average stack, payouts, and your own seat assignment in real time. No more crowding around the TV to read the clock.
What is a Poker Hawk club?
A club is a recurring group of players who play together — a home game, a league, or a private room. Clubs get persistent leaderboards, member stats, event history, and announcements. Members can RSVP to events and see standings between games.
Is my data private?
Yes. Club data is scoped to club members — only your hosts and players see your roster and results. We never sell user data, and player stats stay inside the clubs they belong to.
Can I switch plans or cancel anytime?
Yes. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from your account billing page at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — no penalties, no lock-in.
Do I need an internet connection during the tournament?
Yes, but Poker Hawk is designed to tolerate flaky room Wi-Fi. Brief disconnects are recovered automatically, the desktop host keeps running the clock locally, and devices re-sync once the connection comes back.
How long does setup take?
Four steps: create your account, pick or customize a blind structure, set buy-in and payouts, and start the clock. Players can join with a club link from their phones.
